Carl Richards, US financial adviser and author of the New York Times' 'Sketch Guy' column, is one of the first to admit that advisers don't always make it easy for their clients to get the most out of their investing experience.

In a recent presentation at a UK conference, Carl outlined four ways advisers can make the whole experience more beneficial and enjoyable: admit you;re part of the problem; talk about the right things; keep it simple; and love your client.
